Role Objective
The Head of Accounts is responsible for developing and monitoring accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements while maintaining proper internal controls and governance framework.
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
Operational Performance
- Supervise staff in the Accounts Department for timely preparation and submission of accounting information for the purpose of quarterly review, audit of financial statements and providing financial information to the management as requested.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Manages relationships with related parties, affiliates companies and financial service providers.
- Analyzes financial statements on a monthly basis and reports variances from budgeted amounts and agreed on business targets.
- Supervises and directs finance and accounting activities such as budgeting & forecasting, accounting, treasury, audit, and fixed assets management including safeguarding, inventory controls, assets count and obtaining insurance policies.
- Oversee the functioning of accounts payable and receivable.
- Handling any issues related to accounting staff or external parties.
- Oversees the preparation of daily bank report.
- Oversees and reviews the preparation of Semi-Annual / Annual Balance Sheets & Monthly Profit & Loss report.
- Oversees the provision of Financial requirements of Auditors and Bank.
- Oversees and reviews the production of Periodic Payment Plans.
- Analyzes the feasibility, CAPEX Control, and break even reports of current and new locations.
- Reviews the preparation and reconciliation of sales reports.
- Monitor and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Analyzing expenses reports incurred by all outlets.
- Reviews financial statements and handles banking and cash flow management.
- Prepares reports as requested by Management.
- Verifies and finalizes monthly staff Payroll, Leave Salary, Indemnity, Overtime, Commissions and Benefits.
- Oversees and approves the creation of accounts, sub accounts in the accounting system.
Budgeting and Planning
- Provides information and financial advice for planning, forecasting and budget.
Recruitment and Performance Management
- Monitors and performs annual performance review on subordinates.
- Identifies the training needs of the Accounts Department.
