Job Scope Description
The Wellhead SCADA OR Control & Application Engineer manages the scope and leads the team for maintenance of the Wellhead Control Panels, which have been, installed for KOC under Company project 2O8-1O5 (currently 3O are operational, growing to 70 in total). This scope includes the Control Panels, RTU’s, PLC’s, 24V Solar Power Supply, Automated Choke Valves, Data Management / SCADA systems, Servers etc. The team of in-house staff initially consists of 4 specialist staff, including the supervisor, and may grow to include additional staff or teams if workload demands.
- Administers requisitions for maintenance supplies, special tools, plant and manages all the activities for his discipline.
- Directs the work of personnel in his charge.
- Maintains equipment history and performance trending records.
- Prepares and submits daily activity report to the Operations Manager/Project Manager
- Compiles equipment failure report and submits to the Operations Manager/Project Manager
- Co-ordinates work functions of the team including all disciplines.
- Ensures the implementation of the routine/preventive/breakdown/shutdown maintenance and major overhaul programmer.
- Ensures personnel’s adherence to safe working.
- Continually reviews updated maintenance requirements/procedures.
- Implements surveillance system and monitors to ensure progress by proper manpower distribution in his area.
- Recommends improvements to increase Wellhead availability and maintainability.
- Ensure the quality of works.
Key Result Areas
Guide, motivate, manage and encourage the project staff to achieve a good team spirit and achieve the following targets in the safest possible manner:
- Together with the WHAP project team, develop the processes and procedures for maintenance of the Wellhead Control Panels.
- Establish a maintenance program to execute the scheduled maintenance.
- Implement the Maintenance Program with hands-on approach.
- Supervise and implement safe practices for all maintenance activities
- Ensure that permits are in place and communicate with the Well Operations staff in KOC to coordinate the work program on a monthly, weekly and daily basis.
- Ensure that the Companies vehicle monitoring and maintenance program is adhered to.
- Observe safe driving practices and ensure all team members adhere to safe driving rules.

Supervisory / decision making responsibilities
- Self-motivated and self-driven individual who is able to lead the team of specialist engineers and technicians?
- Lead the team in day to day implementation of the maintenance activities.
- Take on the spot decisions concerning breakdowns or urgent operational requirements for all Wellhead and SCADA systems.
- Develop the maintenance program, with input from WHAP project team, INTECH specialist advice and Operations Manager.
Physical demands
Physically fit to do duties in office and field.
Job Context / Work environment:
- 70 % of time will be spent in field and 30% of time in Field Offices.
- Occasional visits will be made to Ahmadi office for coordination with project staff and management.
- Drive defensively company vehicles and maintain a minimum daily driver rating of 95%
- Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are applied
- Demonstrate respect for safety and other company polices procedures
- Must implement standards and environmental regulations during the regular activities
