- Responsible for: Management and Safe Execution of the Sulphur Transport from Sabriya and East Rawdatain to the MAA Refinery
Job Scope Description
The Chemical Transport Supervisor manages and leads the team that provides transport services for Molten Sulphur from the Sabriya and East Rawdatain oil fields in North Kuwait to the Mina Al Ahmadi refinery. This transport operation is a 24/7 operation with 12 Truck Trailer combinations and a team of up to 50 drivers and helpers. Molten Sulphur is a chemically hazardous material and transport takes place at 140 Degrees C across the public roads in Kuwait. The transport supervisor shall be experienced and shall be qualified in transport and logistics of hazardous chemicals.
Key Result Areas
Guide, motivate, manage and encourage the project staff to achieve a good team spirit and achieve the following targets in the safest possible manner:
- Develop and implement the processes and procedures for safe transport of Molten Sulphur.
- Define and ensure readiness for emergency response for all possible accident scenarios.
- Select and recruit (with HR support) drivers, helpers and other required staff for the safe transport
- Provide Training to the team in the Safe Handling of Chemicals and in Safe Driving Practices
- Monitor driver performance and take action as and when driver performance can be improved.
- Manage the contract for Molten Sulphur transport and liaise with Client Schlumberger as well as with KOC (Field Operator) and KNPC (Refinery Company), as well as Government road traffic department.
- Ensure that the Companies vehicle monitoring and maintenance program is adhered to.
- Ensure all permits are available as required for both staff and for equipment.

Lead the Sulphur Transport division, Manage the staff and Ensure availability of all equipment
Physical demands
Physically fit to do duties in office and field.
Job Context / Work environment:
- 60% of time will be spent in field and 40% of time in Ahmadi office
- Drive defensively company vehicles and maintain a minimum daily driver rating of 95%
- Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are applied
- Demonstrate respect for safety and other company polices procedures
- Must implement standards and environmental regulations during the regular activities
