Job brief
Kuwait College of Science and Technology is looking for an IT manager to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our ICT and computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. You will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our university’s ICT, Audio/Visual and security needs both for administrative and academic purposes.
The successful candidate will have improved managerial and strategic planning skills, a proven professional experience and a detailed knowledge of industry’s best practice processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage information technology and computer systems
- Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures
- Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
- Develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business
- Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
- Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
- Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale
- Compliance with procurement policies and procedures relating to IT assets and consumables
- Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
- Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
- Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
- Audit systems and assess their outcomes
- Preserve assets, information security and control structures
- Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
- Oversee all phases of project from inception to completion.
- Develop project tracking and variance reports
- Ensure proper up-to-date information security systems.
- Manage team of consultants, programmers, developers, and analysts, time to time.
- Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
