• Review and approve purchase orders; contact internal and external business partners for extra information as required.
• Ensure shipping documents are in good order and match the purchase order and Letter of Credit. Ensure Customs entries are complete and with accuracy.
• Maintain an effective and efficient flow of imports orders to include compliance with policies and procedures including necessary testing and audits.
• Maintain a clear understanding of Customs import shipment requirements, rules, bans, regulation of Customs Harmonized Tariff Schedules etc.
• Sound knowledge of process Letter of Credit applications and amendments in a timely matter.
• Complete invoice processing by verifying that general ledger accounting codes have been applied correctly, proper approval has been obtained and the company policy has been followed.
• Process remittance information from checks, drafts and wire transfers for invoices provided by local or overseas vendors, reviewing instructions accompanying items to determine proper disposition and crediting accounts in accordance with standard procedures.
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Respond to inquiries from departments or vendors and resolve issues.
• Monthly reconciliation of accounts with Vendors.
• Prepare various month end adhoc reports to ensure accuracy on a monthly and annual basis.
• Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Assists with monthly status reports, and monthly closings
