Responsible for enhancing the efficiency of Company’s operations through assessing its demand for technological infrastructure, managing the implementation of the relevant systems through coordination with external vendors whilst guiding subordinates to ensure all enquiries are supported and availability of IT resources is guaranteed.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy Formulation
Develop the department’s strategic objectives and KPIs and ensure that they are in line with Company’s corporate strategy and that the Department’s employees are working towards the achievement of these objectives.
Ensure that the department’s manpower plan is in line with Company’s overall corporate strategy.
Review the operating results of the Department and follow-up to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct insufficient results.
Budget & Cost Control
Develop department’s annual budget and ensure all employees are working within the assigned budget by setting the required targets and responsibilities
Policies & Procedures
Develop, recommend updates and follow up on the implementation of the departmental policies and procedures in line with the department’s objectives.
Communicate and discuss the department’s guidelines and procedures with employees to ensure responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities are defined and understood
Departmental Activities
Manage the Information Technology department of the Company which is responsible for managing the following IT activities (but not limited to):
o Application Support (Programming)
o Business Analysis
o Database Administration
o Network & Communication
o IT Helpdesk
Continuous Improvement
Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of practices taking into account ‘international best practice’ changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans in accordance with the Country’s Rules and regulations associated with business activities.
People Management
Provide guidance and leadership to all department employees to ensure effective and efficient work flow and ensure that all employees recognize their fundamental role in the department.
Conduct annual employee performance appraisals to review employees’ work performance.
Ensure effective departmental performance through the selection, development, deployment and motivation of competent staff.
Identify the training needs of employees to ensure all relevant experience and knowledge is transferred to employees to ensure a highly skilled and high performance workforce.
Reports
Review and present reports on budget activity, including identification of potential problems and recommendations for corrective action, forecasts trends and make recommendations.
Prepare and submit reports (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) to top management that cover all IT activities and other related fields.
