The Deputy General Project Manager acts as the temporary successor to the General Project Manager, having therein the same obligations and responsibilities in his absence. As outlined below, the Deputy General Project Manager will have specific areas of responsibilities, and will work in the capacity of Project Manager for any assigned project and also the support the department in his area of educational expertise.
• II. Basic Duties & Responsibilities
o Functional Responsibilities
Manage projects assigned by department manager
Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives and procedures.
Determine staffing requirements
Directing and coordinating all activities concerned with site wide manufacturing CAPEX.
Plan and direct project related activities, coordinating with other department heads as required.
Review project plans, timeline and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
Work closely with key stakeholder and project owners to ensure that the scope and direction of all projects is on schedule.
Follows and approves materials and/or scopes for sitewide manufacturing projects. Assist with Project prioritization and keep all key stakeholders informed about the status of all projects.
Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables and provide direction and support to the project team.
Oversees preparations, installations and commissioning aspect of various projects.
Responds on requests from the project group or upper management.
Provides information and responds on status requests to Maintenance, Production, Project Group or upper management.
Organizes, calculates and presents optimizing proposals, within the area to the project group.
If required, acts on breakdowns wherein my field of expertise could add value to the situation.
Coordinate meetings with Production/Maintenance and wherever applicable contractors, for all projects which are managed by self.
o People Management Responsibilities
Builds & maintains relationship with key constituents to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Provide direction and support to the project team.
Develops educates expands knowledge, building a strong pro-active task force of department employees.
o Strategic: Planning Responsibilities
Constant research for more effectiveness or efficiency.
Plans for contingency actions/solutions for any possible mishap.
Studies & proposes better system.
Works towards highest machine or production optimization.
o Administrative & Behavioral Responsibilities
Develops document (e.g. proposals, requirements & specifications, manuals, etc.), and verify that the project meet specifications.
Ensures all company & department policies, procedures and processes are followed.
Writes reports, business correspondence, and proposals.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from upper management.
Demonstrates ability to communicate, discuss and negotiate with all levels of technical & professional staff, upper management, the company leadership, and all sectors of the user community.
