Under the direction of the Executive Manager - Enterprise Information Management, the jobholder will use data governance standards to profile and monitor the quality of the organization’s data assets.
The jobholder will participate in the development and implementation of a long-term data quality strategy across the organization’s systems and databases, focusing on analyzing core data to identify quality gaps, implementing reporting processes to track data quality improvements over time, supporting the enhancement of current systems, and developing appropriate standards and policies.
Data Quality Management
The jobholder's responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following tasks:
1. Participating with the implementation, management and evolution of a data quality profile and monitoring competency within Client.
2. Participating in the selection and implementation of appropriate data quality profiling software for the organization.
3. Using data quality software to develop queries, scripts and jobs to profile and monitor the technical and structural quality of the organization’s data.
4. Participating with the design, development, implementation and evolution of a database to hold the historical results of the data quality queries, scripts and jobs.
5. Documenting data quality profiling tasks and deliverables as repeatable processes.
6. Participating with the development of quarterly reports and dashboards for business units using Business Objects.
7. Participating with the development of annual Data Quality Briefing Books, using Business Objects, for higher management.
8. Participating with the task of providing guidance to the business units in profiling and monitoring the accuracy of their data assets.
9. Participating with the development and maintenance of a register of data quality issues identified by business and IT.
10. Participating with the tasks of root cause analysis, documenting the cause(s), and proposing alternative corrective measures.
11. Contributing to the publication of a quarterly EIM status report.
The jobholder will work closely with and through all lines of business towards enhancing business return on information assets through maintenance and improvement of data quality and accessibility.
The jobholder will assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time by his manager.

• Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Statements and Reports
• Participate in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet business requirements, policies and standards. In particular, quarterly reports regarding the historical changes in data quality will be prepared for all data owners, and an annual briefing book will be prepared for the C-level officers of Client.
