• Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
• Interview and hire staff, and oversee staff training.
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
• Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
• Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
• To demonstrate competent operational & technical skills and knowledge of requirements of the parks purchasing needs.
• To formulate purchase specification for all items to be used in the park in coordination with the executive team.
• To ensure that the shared procurement activity is fully and effectively operational and well aligned with the company objective
• To ensure operational effectiveness of the shared purchasing department and optimize the benefits of a combined procurement and leverage the same for achieving maximum synergy for the combined purchasing activity.
• To explore synergy in all product categories, coordinate and combine the material purchases as far as possible and create successful alliances with the suppliers to improve procurement & supply chain performance in order to improve company profitability. Co-ordinate procurement meetings with Union Properties other investment owners in order to maximize best combined pricing.
• To conduct market surveys and inter hotel price comparisons ( as it relates to owners other business interests ) of some common fast moving items and share findings to management.
• To assure management regarding the adequacy of the functional coverage, reliability of systems and controls in place, in line with the company audit requirement.
• To organize and conduct trainings for the user departments to achieve operational effectiveness.
• To ensure that the financial transactions and contractual terms are fulfilled by the suppliers. (Sponsorships, volume discount etc)
• To uphold purchasing ethics while dealing with suppliers & staff alike.
