English, Science and Mathematics teachers are required.
Overall Functions
1-To teach and educate students according to guidelines provided by the school.
2-To teach and educate students according to the educational needs, abilities and
attainment potential of individual students entrusted to his/her care by the Head of
School or Head of Unit.
Day-to-day activities may include:
1-Preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities;
marking work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of pupils' progress and development.
2-Researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devising and writing new curriculum materials.
3-Selecting and using a range of different learning resources and equipment, including podcasts and interactive whiteboards.
4-Preparing pupils for qualifications and external examinations;
5-Managing pupil behavior in the classroom and on school premises, and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehavior.
6-Undertaking pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties.
7-Communicating with parents and careers over pupils' progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events.
8-Liaising with other professionals, such as learning mentors, careers advisers, educational psychologists and education welfare officers.
9-Supervising and supporting the work of teaching assistants, trainee teachers and newly qualified teachers (NQTs).
10-Participating in and organizing extracurricular activities, such as outings, social activities and sporting events.
