Job Summary
The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Required Duties & Responsibilities:
- Chart of accounts for Portfolios, Funds and other related entities.
- Classification of assets/liabilities to determine realized and unrealized Profit and loss as per IFRS.
- Map out the chart of accounts at different accounting and reporting levels.
- Consolidation of subsidiaries, affiliates and other entities with parent co.
- Introduction of multi type chart of accounts for various mutual Funds, client Portfolios, SPV(s) and financial derivatives.
- Multi currency financial system to ascertain FX translations and transactions.
- Classification of financial assets and liabilities to conduct periodic valuation.
- Vendors and other settlement process
- Allocation of income expenses across departments and entities.
- Fixing financial limit in system for budget analysis and variations.
- Sales, Purchase and depreciation of fixed assets.
- Accruals and prepayments treatment.
- Familiar with subscriptions, redemptions, fee computation, NAV computation, shareholder register etc. systemizing Funds.
- Aware of the consequences of Daily, WTD, MTD, YTD and back value transactions.
- Recognition of all types of interest (income/exp.) computation for loan, borrowing, deposits etc.
