Estimator, Body Shop
- Assess the damage and prepare an estimate (parts numbers, parts quantity required, parts prices, parts availability, paint materials information and cost, labor hours and costs, consumables, any subcontracted jobs)
- Meeting and establishing rapport with customers, justifies needed repairs and costs, and follow up with customers
- Estimating damage to vehicles visually
- Completing estimate sheets to document damage and repairs required and work/repair orders to itemize parts and materials required
- Calculating labor and painting costs to determine the total cost of repairs
- Assigning repair orders to Production Coordinator
- Evaluating the quality of repair jobs by Technicians and, if necessary, returns vehicles for additional work if they do not meet quality standards
- Understanding insurance company estimates of repairs and checks them for accuracy and comprehensiveness
