General Manager, RAC plans, directs and control operations of Rent A Car in order to grow market share and improve financial returns, based on the values of the group and with a customer and employee centric approaches. Build and maintain an effective operation and achieve business results and profitability growth objectives, within the limits of authority laid down by the Board of Directors. The responsibilities includes:
Strategic:
- Formulate the strategic plans and budgets for identifying the long-term direction of the business in order to achieve business results.
- Identify the strategic business and market trends, i.e. competitors and principals’ activities, customers’ behaviors, and ensure alignment of the various business components to these trends and formulate solutions to cope with market changes.
- Participate in due diligence in order to assess the business implications for mergers and acquisitions and recommend solutions.
Operational:
- Plan and direct marketing and commercial activities, such as pricing, fleet vehicle mix, promotions, advertising, sales targets, etc… so that agreed profit, sales and market share targets are achieved in order to obtain competitive position in industry.
- Plan and direct the sales and aftersales activities, to ensure that the services rendered to customers are of the highest quality, in order to achieve the target customer satisfaction index.
- Plan and manage the fleet of vehicles in order to maximize the level of utilization of fleet and the profit achieved on de fleeted vehicles.
- Plan and direct the acquisition of new and management of existing facilities and equipment of Rent A Car to meet current and future business needs.
- Ensure that Rent A Car has the appropriate processes and systems to monitor and control its operations effectively and achieve its financial targets.
- Ensure Rent A Car compliance with the Group policies and procedures, in areas of purchasing, IT, HR, etc…
- Report periodically on the business performance to management, track business KPIs and budgets, review analysis of activities, costs, operations and sales and data forecasting to determine the Rent A Car progress toward stated goals and objectives, operations cost effectiveness, reduce waste, and take corrective measures as necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of development trends and best practices in the area of industry and ensure they are incorporated in the future business models of Al-Sayer Group.
- Maximizing the rental of vehicles that are sold by companies having the same ownership structure as RAC.
People Management:
- Plan and control staffing and development of the Business Unit or department staff to ensure effective operations of business unit/department function and provide for continuity of managerial and specialized skills.
- Review the performance and potential of individual staff members and make/approve decisions relating to business unit employee matters, such as appointment and termination of staff, promotions and salary adjustments, disciplinary action, succession planning, development plans, etc...
- Ensure increasing levels of employee satisfaction and improve the efficiency of manpower.
- Make requisite attempts to handle all grievances raised by subordinates in a prompt and effective manner.
