Perform day to day activities related to material handling, encoding stock, reporting and maintaining safe working environment and reporting hazard conditions, perform related activities for process improvement as directed by immediate superior
Ensure compliance to ISO-9001 and 14001 & OHSAS 18001 requirements by reading the department’s procedures and documents
To minimize the production cost with minimum usage of resources such as consumable, spares, tools and manpower
He should ensure that all required tools and tackles and consumable materials are available near the shop floor for his shift as well as for reliever shift to avoid any kind of delays
He shall prepare reports on incidents and major delays resulting to physical injury and/or property damage & failure analysis, submitting said report to EAF/LF In-charge
Initialing for developing the improvement projects in melt shop additives area for material handling, material staking and material preservation. Initiating/performing trials for new methods or new materials
Coordinating with maintenance crew for shut down jobs/down day and preventive maintenance jobs and also supporting all other departments
He shall focus on material feeding activities of EAF, LF, day bins and conveyor belts to optimize productivity and eliminate risk or accidents. He will be responsible for all the delays related to additive materials for EAF&LF
He shall take major role for new developed activities and non-routine activities to give training/guidelines for his crew
He must follow instructions of his immediate superior/superiors and carry-out work as per their directives
He must follow the shift relieving policy (handed over & takeover of shift at site) and also ensure that his shift crew members must follow the same
He must ensure that self & all his crew members are available at site at begging of the shift & during working hours and resume their work
He shall communicate to his crew important information coming from other shifts, superior and from management
He shall coordinate and focus on all additive activities to avoid material shortage optimize feeding & storage activity and eliminate risk of accidents. He must ensure all his crew wearing proper PPE.
He shall coordinate with shift supervisor for timely troubleshooting and repair or abnormal or broken down equipment and he shall communicate back to shift supervisor and materials and additive in-charge any sudden change in the material plan due to shortage of material
He shall take the lead for any breakdown activity, shut down jobs and emergency situation handling in the section
He shall personally direct any critical activities with in his section such as day bin level checking, conveyor belts operations, chutes position, material feeding, material stacking/shortage
He must monitor the availability of the material on site, feeding rate, consumption rate bin levels, closing stock, storage material condition and informing the supervisor for any additional material needed.
He must address the additive material deficiency to his superiors and equipment deficiency to maintenance department to resolve with in the time frame.
He shall be responsible in completing all shift reports and communicating key issues with other additive operators
He must understand the input material quality/specification, packing and rejected material status and disposal
