Biologist responsibilities:
· Researching, identifying, classifying and studying plants, animals, and ecosystems to expand our understanding of how they operate and relate to each other and the things around them.
· Collecting samples, taking measurements, photographing or sketching organisms, and obtaining other information that may lead to discoveries about organisms or ecosystems.
· Observing organisms to learn more about their diets, behavior, and impact on their surroundings.
· Maintaining thorough, accurate records relating to research or observations.
· Tagging and tracking animals to learn about their movements, relocating animals to wildlife preserves.
· Preparing reports, lecturing students, and presenting findings, discussing the potential environmental impact of invasive species, pest control methods, and other actions or events.
· Leading research groups, ensuring the proper distribution of tasks and resources.
· Writing papers about findings and proposals for projects or funding.
Aquaculurist:
· Manage and operate facilities such as hatcheries, nurseries, and final grow-out sites.
· Monitor systems and operations, for example fish behaviour, feed consumption, and water quality parameters such as temperature, salinity, and oxygen levels.
· Calculate feeding regimes and make necessary adjustments according to observations and husbandry activities.
· Implement breeding programs and coordinate growing schedules.
· Maintain records, for example stock, cage movements, splits, and transfers.
· Clean tanks and screens and hand-feed where required.
· Maintain inventory and order supplies and feed.
· Install, repair, and maintain equipment
AGRONOMIST:
· Studying plants and soil in order to develop better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improve crop yield, and solve problems facing the agriculture industry.
· Researching, developing, and promoting farming practices or products that diminish the effects of changes in soil, climate, and weather or prevent damage from pests.
· Visiting fields to collect seed, plant, and soil samples and testing samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.
· Assisting with the plant selection process and the development of planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines.
· Keeping detailed records regarding fields, customers, crops, and samples.
· Generating reports and presenting findings to management, clients, or other interested parties.
· Promoting products and techniques through educational presentations.
· Managing teams of scientists while conducting field visits or laboratory work.
· Selling personalized consultation services to clients.
