The Role:
As a Data Steward at Alshaya, you would be responsible for Data governance execution and follow through with technical teams. (EA, SA, IT Ops, Support). You would be the first point of contact for business w.r.t. technical input for data quality validations, structure & integrity . You are also Responsible to ensure standards, procedures & methodology are translated into technical actions along with EA & SA for existing & new environments.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in similar profile. Domain knowledge in Logistic, E-commerce and Business Intelligence in either one is mandatoryUnderstanding of business applications across domains (core retail ; logistics; HRMS; etc.)Experience/ credible understanding of our AS-IS or TO-BE state of application processes and logic.Technical strength in anyone of the technologies in TO-BE steady state highly desirable.Past experience of having been part of or been responsible for execution of technical governance rules.Experience of training user base & technical knowledge transfer is desirable.
Responsibilities:
Immediate responsibilities
Co-ordinate with Business SMEs (1 SME for each brand recommended)Use DvSum tool for profiling the source data and conduct data discovery and workshops for identifying data quality opportunities and requirementsCo-ordinate within Alshaya to do impact analysis and facilitate decision on whether data can be fixed at source or has to be fixed in stagingCo-ordinate cleansing of data in source or in staging (where cleansing is not part of migration rules already)Co-ordinate & participate in collection of orphan data that is required for migration or enrichmentEnsure and undertake appropriate SME input & endorsement to define the logic for transforming orphan data and its use for enrichment (work closely with Data BPO)Co-ordinate & participate in the management of orphan data in staging (like Hierarchy mapping etc.)
Long term responsibilities
SME to advice & outline technical handling of data to meet data classification , management & governance requirements.Co-ordinate development of the on-going data governance process for data entities post migration with Data BPO.Identify, communicate & solution data quality issues.Ensure continuous improvement of technical processes & procedures for data governance and alignment to business changes & expansions.Play role of trainer to train data owners (biz or IT)on using DvSum for on-going data management or alternative tool as per final decisions.

Data quality rules that integrate into the application flow & technical processes.Cleansed orphan data not in systematic sourcesCleansed source data for migrationKey contributor to solutioning for issues of data quality & integrity .Tangible actionable inputs that can be incorporated into the existing application process flows & other technical procedures.Participating in tactical groups (with other extended teams & business) for finite periods of time to address specific issues and projects w.r.t. data governance processes.Face off to business for training and awareness initiatives
