- Analyze and evaluate dental needs to determine treatment and changes/trends in patterns of dental diseases.
- Provide dental care services, i.e. routine dental surgery (removal of teeth, roots, cysts, etc.), endodontics (root canal), crown and bridge work, orthodontics (correction of irregularities in natural teeth) and paedodontics (treatment of deciduous dentition).
- Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth, gums and related oral structures, and provide preventative and corrective services.
- Design and fit prosthodontic appliances, such as space maintainers, bridges, and dentures or write specifications or prescriptions for Dental Technician.
- Advise and instruct patients regarding preventative dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems and oral health services.
- Promote and assist in implementation of dental health programmers and dental health campaigns.
- Report on risk, patterns of disease and effectiveness of prevention and intervention regarding dental care and update and maintain patient records.
- Implementation of dental prescribing and Patient Group Directions (PGD). Prescribing medicine.
- Submit a monthly/weekly Dental Care Report to Senior Dentist.
- Includes Dental statistics on patients attended, cancellations, services delivered, etc.
