• Assess treatment requested by physician by studying patient’s records and by examining patient’s signs and systems
• Assess patient’s condition and physical status, and prepare a treatment program according to findings, using recognized treatment procedures suitable to patient’s condition. Such procedures could be through the use of therapeutic exercises, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy and manipulation.
• Develop and change treatments programs according to patient’s progress upon consultants’ evaluation.
• Discuss with doctors, nursing staff patient’s progress.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, team members, supervisor, director of clinical services, and other involved in service delivery.
• Document assessment findings, goals of treatment, treatment plans as well as patient/family education.
• Attend ward rounds, as required, as a member of the patient care team.
• Ensure that all equipment used are in proper working order and report malfunctioning equipment for repairs. Ensure that equipment is cleaned after use and those towels and sheets are changed after every treatment.
• Participate in in-service training, multidisciplinary meetings, and orientation of Physical Therapy and fellows of different medical specialties.
• Continuously update physical therapy knowledge and skills through attendance of seminars, workshops and specific trainings or attend conferences per year.
• Participate in research activities.
• Perform other related duties, such as maintaining comprehensive patient records, preparing monthly statistics on number of visits and treatment used.
• Instruct aides/assistants on personal safety during lifting and transfer of patients.
• Participation in Quality & Patient Safety Program & activities
