- Carry out daily, weekly and monthly checks
- Conduct pre/post-firing function checks
- Perform shipboard preventive maintenance tasks
- Know the functional design of the gun mount so as to be able to carry out simple repair
- Make accurate defect assessment/report to support base
- State the functions and capabilities of the Guns
- Carry out the closing-up and clearing away procedure
- Carry out the loading and unloading procedure
- Carry out the securing procedure
- Carry out the misfire procedure
- Carry out the following stoppages procedure
- Empty case not ejected
- Loading tray locking tool jammed
- Communicate using the standard command and control orders and reports
