- Observe and maintain Safety Standards and Practices as defined in HSSE Specifications.
- Proficient in handling potential hazards and safety aspects relevant to refinery industry and fully aware of loss prevention appliances, damage control equipment and facility protection system in order to ensure Organization HSSE Procedures and Standards are implemented.
- Should have experience in following activities - Conduct inspections and surveys on all services carried out by Lab team according to pre-set schedule to ensure Client's Standards and HSSE Policies are applied.
- Familiar with identifying unsafe work practice and suspend work if imminent danger appears and prepare reports of findings/recommendation of immediate remedial action to Client and Lab supervisors.
- Preparation of Infringement Reports with Recommended Remedial Actions and follow up on corrective measures.
- Conduct/attend investigation and analyze cause of accidents/incidents, ensuring application of safety policies, and prepare investigation reports together with analysis and recommendations.
- Conduct safety training/promotional program and implement such programs by giving lectures with illustrations, arrange and distribute posters and deliver trainings, such as, use of breathing apparatus and safety devices.
- Familiar with monitoring/reviewing near miss reported accidents and implementing corrective actions.
- Formulate and recommend changes to organization safety regulations/safety procedures to overcome deficiencies and to meet needs of the Company on specific circumstances. Should be familiar with discussing such changes or proposals with appropriate teams.
- Formulate an evacuation safety plan for field areas and buildings and supervise the plan on implementation stage.
- Familiar in requesting and obtaining eWP if required and inspect permit to work on sites and suspends work when identifying imminent danger.
- Keep abreast of latest developments in the field of safety and participate in health, safety and environment committee meetings and other safety awareness programs.
- Examine Specifications of new equipment from HSSE point of view and provide recommendations as required; conduct/follow up on surveys of facilities to detect unsafe conditions and work practices, and discuss with concerned Company Representatives.
- Should be able to handle incidents and develop procedure to reduce the amount of loss and controlling the risk through conducting safety and awareness programs and training.
- Familiar in establishing hazard register(s) for organization laboratory in association with concerned Team(s) to enable systematic review of hazards and risks and to identify key aspects for corrective/ preventive action and follow-ups.
- Prepare book of “Lessons Learnt” for incidents/ near-misses, periodic review and transpire/ focusing them to the laboratory staff.
