Directly reporting to Manager- Marine Services, the main responsibility of this role to provide ship husbanding services to vessels calling Kuwait seaports under ISS agency, He will deal with all required documentation, communicate with Principals, service providers and liaise with the Operations Executives to ensure a Customer Service excellence.
This position should involve ensuring QMS standards are adhered to consistently in all operational activities, applying the required operational excellence in Marine Services in order to meet and exceed the expectation of the customers/principals
The role will also require the incumbent to assist the Back office with the submission of documents/collection of documents, approvals etc. from stakeholders located outside ISS and provide all assistance in ship handling business as and when required.
Key Accountabilities:
Customer Service Excellence: Identify, understand and meet internal customer needs by demonstrating high level of commitment and applying maximum efforts to achieve results to the highest quality standards thus maintaining and exceeding customer satisfaction. Applying promptly corrective actions to the service failures and ensuring that they do not reoccur in the future.
Operations Excellence: Applies the required operational excellence in execution of the daily operational activities related to the inward and outward clearance of vessels and other provisions of husbandry services to vessels calling at Kuwait Ports by dealing with relevant Port and Government Officials with the purpose of completing all required official documents and boarding the vessels to sort any issues that ensure a fast turnaround of vessels.
Communication:
Attends a Port meeting daily at the Harbour Master’s office in order to discuss relevant port activities for that day, and to present or obtain information as per the instructions of the Ship Services Manager or Operations Executives and re-echo the same to the Team.
Submits arrival/departure messages to the Principals in the formats requested or passes such details to the office to enable the Operations Executives to communicate with Principals within stipulated timelines.
Advises the Operations Manager and Operations Executives of all relevant Port activities that may affect Principal’s business, such as Port closure, repairs or changes to Port regulations.
Safety, Quality, and Environment: Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures in accordance with ISS QMS and ISS HSE policies and procedures to deliver the highest quality services to the customers. He will ensure adherence to ISS Driving Policy. He will also adhere to the Code of Excellence and ISS Dress Code.
Liaison: Liaise closely with Customs, Immigration, Health, and Port officials in order to minimize bureaucratic hassle and ensure smooth operations and quick turnaround of the vessel.
Reporting: Prepare & submit a monthly Operational report to the Operations Manager with a view to providing updates of performance and any irregularities.
Reporting: He will ensure monthly submission of other operation, commercial and Quality assurance reports. He will also be required to enter data & information in Your ISS2 software
Documentation: Review, verify documentation requirements for all shipments are as per custom clearance guidelines resulting in smooth customs clearance and to prepare Proforma DA’s, checklist of final DA.
Market Intelligence. Maintain awareness of developments across the industry and communicating the market research to the department to ensure that the department continues to apply the most effective policies and approaches. Monitor competitor activity and ensure that the appropriate responses are developed to any perceived threats to the business. Analyze trends in the business environment, help to develop products/services that are responsive to the market demands and identify new market opportunities.
The job holder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope and purpose of the job as requested by the Line Manager and ensure full utilization of all ISS systems according to Standard Operating Procedures. He will also utilize Your ISS as per Standard Operating Procedures
