Role purpose summary:
- Conduct performance, operational and financial internal audit projects and contribute to the successful delivery of the internal audit plan.
- Responsible for design, develop and implement of the annual internal audit plan, and present to the Board Audit Committee for approval.
- Updating, preparing and presenting analytical reports.
- Provide BOD audit committee with monthly reports and progress of internal audit plan.
- Liaise with Management to facilitate implementation of audit recommendations.
- Performing root cause analyses on identified risk events to recommend improvements to prevent these risk events from re-occurring in future.
- Assisting with the identification of key risk indicators.
- Coordinates audit assignments within designated areas.
- Oversees audits to ensure that professional standards are met and resources are used effectively.
- Performs investigations of technical and sensitive audit issues.
- Advises regarding specific audit plans, audit budgets, and audits programs for individual departments.
- Determines audit strategies, programs, and procedures for specific audit assignments.
- Evaluates audit findings and presents audit recommendations.
- Monitoring the implementation of action plans to address according to the audit findings.
- Facilitate the integration of internal audit function into day-to-day business activities and processes.
- Coordinate daily internal audit activities in conjunction with technical Departments.
- Participating in the development and testing of new systems by recommending and implementing changes to systems and tools that will result in continual process improvement.
- Evaluates the managerial function, organization, procedures, and techniques of the audited departments, and determines the adequacy of standards and controls.
- Analyzes the accounting system and financial procedures, and appraises the soundness, adequacy and application of accounting, financial, and internal operating controls.
- Reviews financial transactions and records to determine compliance with statutes, rules, regulations, and sound accounting principles.
- Foreseeing developing issues and taking actions to minimize negative impacts or maximize benefits.
- Promote a culture of cost consciousness, self-assessment and adherence to high ethical standards.
- Assist develop and maintain a culture of accountability and integrity.
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Provide strong leadership and supervision to all Staff in the Department and ensure they are trained and developed to meet new challenges in audit.
- Regularly monitor staff performance and ensure results are achieved as per agreed targets and objectives.
