Under the direct supervision of the Director for the Center for Gulf Studies, the Gulf Studies Symposium Coordinator is responsible for all logistical and organizational planning for the symposium.
This position is temporary (7 months) and is part time (flexible hours).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the CGS Director and CGS coordinator.
- Responds promptly to phone and email inquiries from internal departments and external participants and their offices.
- Collate and anonymize abstract submissions to the GSS using various MS Office programs, communicate with and coordinate travel
logistics (flight, accommodation, etc.) with symposium participants and with internal departments, and assist with event planning - Prepare printed material such as badges, symposium packets, and other materials.
- Coordinate the hours of GSS volunteers and may be asked to supervise student volunteers.
- Responsible for maintaining and archiving all records, and assisting in symposium planning and execution.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of the Center for Gulf Studies.
