Overview:
- Reporting Manager / Supervisor: Engineering Manager
- Interfaces with: Discipline Engineers, Project Team, CAD/Drafting section
- Responsible for: Mechanical and equipment package engineering of projects, mechanical design engineering and review of mechanical data sheets of equipment & skids
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Key Result Areas
- To prepare the scope of mechanical works and design deliverables of oil & gas projects.
- To perform design reviews of static equipment, rotating equipment and tank mechanical design, skids & packages, check mechanical design calculations and drawings.
- To independently prepare mechanical data sheets of equipment and packages, calculations and generate inputs for GA/layout drawings of equipment packages.
- To review submittals related to mechanical aspects of static vessels, columns, heat exchangers, ejectors, flares and other process/treatment equipment.
- To review submittals related to mechanical aspects of all kinds of pumps, generators and other rotating equipment.
- To be proficient in using International and KOC standards applicable to mechanical engineering.
- To have hands-on experience in using soft wares like PV Elite, Tank, AutoCAD & Excel.
- To prepare MDS of tanks and other mechanical equipment.
- To assist the Estimation Dept. in tabulating quantity take off, floating enquiries and analyze offers from vendors/sub-contractors.
- To participate in dynamic analysis of equipment and skids and timely review of design deliverables.
- To prepare mechanical engineering submittals to client.
Communication and working relationships
- External: with client, sub-contractors, suppliers and vendors.
- Internal: with Engineering Manager / Project Manager / Operations Manager.
- With concerned engineers, subordinates and site engineers.
- With Health, Safety and Environmental Manager / Engineer.
- With Planning Manager / Engineer.
Supervisory / decision making responsibilities
- Decision related to engineering and technical review aspects of mechanical discipline.
- Responsibility for deciding mechanical design aspects of construction projects.
Physical demands - Physical & health fitness to carry out the assigned duties.
Job Context / Work environment:
- 80% office work with about 20% of time for field trips
- Ensuring to apply all safety protocols and regulations
- Respect for safety and other company policies & procedures
- Must implement standards and environmental regulations during regular activities
