Basic Function & Scope:
Manages, Controls & Plans sales operations for a defined region.
Develop, implement, and execute sales
strategies in line with Wholesale growth strategy and objectives in the region.
Develops market share in existing markets and maximize
new business development opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Controls, Manages, Plans, organises and implements sales operations and objectives for a given region
Coordinates and integrates all activities toward achievement of established goals & objectives
Supports Senior Management in the planning exercise of sales targets & annual KPI’s
Assists in providing effective solutions for customer’s needs and Develop and maintain sales strategies for existing and new customers.
Research, identify, capture and qualify new opportunities and sales channels
Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed
Guide and manage client expectations during the negotiation process,
Assess developmental opportunities and prepare for management review.
Participate in applicable industry conferences and trade shows.
Identifies partnership opportunities and capitalizes on "add-on" sales opportunities
To control stock levels, stock out levels, gross margins, product returns, damages
Maintain excellent relationship with principal brands and to meet their purchase targets
To profile retail customers and maximize the sales of categories & brands within their territories
To monitor the market, competitors pricing. To identify opportunities (gaps) in the market
Closely coordinate with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure prompt and timely delivery/ return services.
To identify slow moving items/ non moving items and come out with effective promotion and clearance programs keeping overall margins under control
To implement receivable policy effectively and meet collection targets
Grows long-term relationships with clients and capitalizes on equity and partnership opportunities
Complies with and enforces standard policies and procedures
Leads sales team members, recruitment, performance appraisals, devising PDP and coaching. Direct, co-ordinate and review work plans for the department, assign activities, monitor work flow, review and evaluate policies and procedures
Holds monthly updates with team members and key strategic partners in the office for dissemination of information; prepares management meetings for dissemination of information
Maintain a strategic working relationship with team and all key departments.
