The Restaurant Guest Relations Manager is responsible for ensuring that the all guests receive a total dining experience. Main areas of responsibility include making sure guests are being greeted well, attended to promptly and are being offered the best possible services. Additionally, the Guest Relations manager is responsible for providing high end level support and information to the guests and is responsible for handling the reservations system (if applicable) and dealing with complaints effectively.
Additionally your responsibilities will include:
- Encouraging great customer service throughout the restaurant operations.
- Coordinating with the Restaurant General Manager and Chef in charge to maintain a total dining experience across the restaurant including FOH, BOH and delivery operations.
- To manage and oversee the guest reservation system.
- Communication with guests, addressing issues, answering questions and making courtesy visits to tables.
- Overseeing the preparation of the restaurant prior to the arrival of VIP guests with the RM/GM and coordinating the arrival, dining and departure process.
- Develop, administer and maintain an online, regional client base.
- Help guests feel assured that their concerns have been heard and communicate with them by phone, email and in person, to give them feedback on how it was resolved.
- Represent the outlet, the company or its products in any promotional, sales and image boosting activities and promotions as dictated by management.
- Compile guest feedback and suggestions and share with the Restaurant Manager/Restaurant General Manager to increase service, product quality, customer traffic and boost sales.
- Work in coordination with the Marketing department in handling advertising or sales promotions, offer operational and administrative support as required.
- Upkeep of the image, standards and principle of the restaurant, keeping a transparent easily accessible style of management.
- Travel when requested by management and oversee any works entrusted upon.
- Responsible for devising guest relations strategies in accordance to strict market analysis and forecasts.
- Assist management in setting up new concepts, nationally or internationally, concentrating primarily on developing and maintaining a guest data base.
- Over all responsibility of staff grooming and personal appearance maintenance.
- Identify prospective customers and compile information on competitive products.
- Build strong personal network of external contacts in order to stay abreast to market activities and competition in order to give the brand a competitive advantage.
- Should constantly be in touch with all the latest trends in the industry and acquire all necessary skills necessary as the company keeps growing.
- Ensure all safety and security policies and procedures are followed within the restaurant.
- Maintain visible image of management at all times.
- Assist employees and guests by handling guest feedback, both written and verbal and include investigation into guest complaints.
- Ensure documentation of all guest related issues, upkeep of proper reporting systems.
- Analyzes customer’s feedback, information and make strategies to improve the quality of the service provided.
- Conduct daily briefings, presenting business issues, restaurant information, and coach and train colleagues on guest handling skills.
- Coach and train colleagues and carry out disciplinary actions when necessary, keeping the Restaurant General Manager in the loop.
- Attend scheduled meetings.
- Coordinate front desk activities including responsibilities and schedules.
- Ensure all third-party activities are coordinated, organized, managed throughout all operational departments.
- Any other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
To be successful in this you will possess the following;
- Proven hospitality experience in either a hotel front office, food and beverage outlets or high end restaurant.
- Minimum of high school diploma, preferably a recognized University degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
- Have basic computer knowledge (i.e. windows, internet explorer, restaurant/hotel point of sale systems).
- Read, write and speak English and Arabic fluently.
- Knowledge of restaurant reservation systems and MICROS would be an advantage.
