DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Professional Highways Engineer shall be leading the Design and Planning team and shall be the focal point of contact for that team. Will coordinate directly or through the liaison engineer with the Executive Advisory Board Members. It is expected that the main contacts shall be the Project Director as well as the Highway Expert and Chartered Structural Engineer. The Professional Highway Engineer may delegate some of his responsibilities to the 2nd man in the chain of command, who is the Registered Professional Structural Engineer and who will be in charge only when and as delegated.
In charge of the timely delivery of team’s assigned task.
Coordinating with the Advisory Board and Design Department in evaluating the on going designs by the design consultants.
Review and make recommendation for approval to the Department of design works produced by the design consultants.
Verify design calculations produced by various design software packages.
Review traffic studies produced by Design Firms and provide necessary recommendations for the Department to appropriately take the required decisions.
