General Responsibilities:
Provides support to science teachers in the science laboratories.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a safe, clean and orderly lab environment.
2. Maintain inventory records of all lab equipment, supplies and order supplies annually or as
needed.
3. Assist the classroom instructor in setting up lab projects and experiments in the lab and/or
classroom.
4. Control and maintain strict lab safety standards according to ECIS and MSA accreditation
standards.
5. Provide guidance and assistance to lab students to successfully complete experiments, projects,
and other assigned lab activities.
6. Develop and maintain strict procedures in the proper use and handling of lab equipment and
supplies.
7. Assist students in the application of basic lab concepts and practices.
8. Perform other tasks as may be directed by the Science Head of Department / Principal.
Soft Skills:
7. Familiarity with current office technology such as computers on a network, word processing
software applications, and e-mail systems.
8. Knowledge of proper lab health and safety policies/procedures.
9. Knowledge of science lab equipment, science curriculum, science experiments.
10. Ability to apply guidelines and follow directions.
11. Ability to organize data and files.
12. Ability to work well with public, students, staff and parents.
13. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of students, staff, school business, materials, and
information.
