Main purpose of the Job
To support and assist in planning the activities of the compliance and reporting function across VIVA; lead the design and implementation of an integrated compliance program to facilitate the overall assessment and sustainability of the established risk governance framework while ensuring adherence to corporate and regulatory standards, as well as the Company’s internal policies.
JOB OBJECTIVES
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve the overall compliance program, frameworks and limits / tolerances while ensuring effective implementation of same in liaison with relevant stakeholders to support effective management of VIVA’s operations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of functional policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of compliance activities so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
- Involve in the periodical review of compliance policies and methodologies and ensure effective engagement of all relevant parties in the process in order to ensure achievement of overall agreement and capturing of critical view points from all business functions.
- Assist in the review and assessment of the quantum of compliance risk in order to provide a view on the level of exposure an advice on methods of risk mitigation.
- Lead the effective coordination of compliance activities across VIVA with particular reference to regulatory compliance.
- Conduct a periodical review of VIVA’s products and processes and provide risk mitigation controls.
- Identify compliance risks in new products and services to ensure they are being considered and appropriately mitigated.
- Support line manager and senior management in their responsibility for complying with all relevant regulations; including the provision of advice on compliance issues and liaison with senior line management in the effective planning and organizing of the compliance function.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of any problems using existing resources.
- Monitor and review the evaluation of the various departments / units compliance processes and procedure’s effectiveness in reference to the regulatory compliance program of CMA
- Coordinate and oversee the regular inspections by the CMA while ensuring implementation of corrective action as per given timelines and quality standards.
- Closely monitor the closing of issues/findings identified in the periodic CMA inspections as per established timelines.
- Create a plan for corrective action whenever any type of vulnerability of risk is observed within the compliance program.
- Conduct evaluations of the compliance activities throughout VIVA and provide reviews / reports in order to keep internal processes under control.
- Report any observed violations to the senior Manager and CRO including those that are suspected to happen in the future.
- Strive to prevent unethical, illegal or improper conduct in an organization.
- Provide reports on the overall compliance profile to the CRO /Senior Manager.
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all relevant external/ internal entities (Such as government authorities, key stakeholders etc.) and all sections with the highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner.
- Coordinate with all business functions to ensure harmonized compliance risk management frameworks across the group.
- Other task and projects assigned by upper management.
