Job Title -Operations Manager (Section Head)
Reports to - Senior Manager /Executive Manager - Operations

Lead a team, ensure work is completed to standards and ensure processes are followed in line with timelines, policies and best practice
Job Description
GENERIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. People management Manage, motivate and develop individual employees and the team in line with Bank people policies & practices. Communicate operational procedures
2. Corporate Governance and compliance Work fully within risk policies and procedures and all compliance regulations
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Transaction execution.
· Oversee checking and verification processes
· Ensure processes are followed
· Ensure exceptions are authorized/approved
2. Productivity
· Measure productivity through daily monitoring
· Compare with the targets and priorities set and make adjustments to work procedures and duty allocation
3. Change management
· Develop procedures and processes which are cost effective and improve efficiency
· Implement new procedures and processes through guiding and training staff
4. MIS, systems and recording
· Manage databases and ensure they are accurate and store data effectively Provide MI to internal users
· Ensure reconciliations/summaries are complete
5. Customer service
· Advise customers on transactions and support them in protecting their interests against frauds.
6. Service level agreements
· Ensure all required service standards are met
· Ensure transactions for the day are processed in line with service level agreements
7. Communication:
Handling of correspondence from branches, collections, legal department, credit risk re settlements and all other departments.
8. Corporate Governance and compliance
· Work fully within risk policies and procedures and all compliance regulations
9. Process Improvement:
Test and validate new processes and systems.
Feedback information on tests etc to IT
