The OT Staff Nurse provides age-specific direct and indirect care for assigned patients in operating room setting per scheduled shifts. Is primarily responsible for professional performance and safe patient care. The role encompasses the effective delivery of perioperative care to surgical patients through nursing assessment as appropriate and coordinates care for patients involving families, if applicable. It includes, but not limited to, identifying patients upon entering the OT, performing scrubbing and circulating duties and preparing instruments and equipment specific to specialty rooms. The OT Staff Nurse is accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes in accordance with established DASH policies, procedures, guidelines, standards of practice and the Professional Practice. Participates in PI projects, collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired outcomes. Utilizes knowledge of human development and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Abides by accreditation requirements and international standards.
Supports the mission and vision of DASH and the Nursing Department.
