- Plans, develops, supervises, and performs financial and administrative audits of the Bank and its Branches and assists in providing standards and a quality control function over non - IS audits
- Assists in developing an audit strategy and the annual audit program schedule, prioritizing work to be performed in non-IS areas based upon a risk assessment to ensure an adequate system of control exists over administrative and financial activities of the Bank and its Branches
- Prepares and presents audit reports to management and follows-up on deficiencies.
- Plans, controls and supervises the work of audit teams and individual auditors in carrying out regular internal audits, special projects and special investigations designed to monitor and ensure strict adherence to the Bank’s policies and procedures governing all of its activities. Ensures correct implementation of policies and the application of line authorities
- Assists in carrying out an on-going review on the performance of individual departments and Branches. Suggests corrective action or strengthening of controls where necessary, evaluates the overall performance of senior managers against pre-determined criteria and standards, and identifies where investment/administrative policies and procedures are not being implemented sufficiently in line with guidelines
- Evaluates the adequacy of financial, investment and administrative information and statistics presented to executive management. Includes receiving and verifying the accuracy and relevance of information provided by individual departments, discussing alternative information requirements with relevant individuals
- Ensures that all individual audit work papers are prepared and filed according to requirements. Reviews work papers for all assignments, ensures all work papers are in compliance with generally accepted internal auditing standards and provides comments as appropriate
- Finalizes audit reports, discusses findings with the audited department and prepares follow-up comments
- Prepares follows-up audit reports. Follows-up with concerned departments/ organizations to ensure that approved recommendations or remedial action has been taken. Reports delays to Senior Audit Manager / Audit Manager for follow-up action
- Ensures all audit activities are carried out in compliance with internationally accepted internal audit standards. Ensures adherence to laws and regulations pertaining to banking and investment activities locally and internationally
- Coordinates the development and implementation of IS audit techniques with the Audit Manager IS. Recommends new IS audit techniques where necessary
- Assists in developing and maintaining the Internal Audit Manual covering internal audit policies, procedures and practices an
