This role supervises and monitors the storage service. The responsibilities of this role also include:
• Providing First Line Support for all the incident & problems that appear on the Unix and Linux systems.
• Administering the servers HP/SUN/Huawei ATAE to ensure high availability and performance of the systems as per the due diligence list.
• Perform proactive fault detection, diagnostic procedures and monitor server use and capacity
• Assist in forecasting server capacity and hardware/software requirements
• Providing inputs and suggestions during the evaluation of any new hardware that may be required in future to cater to the business growth.
• Provide automatic email/SMS alerts for planned/unplanned outages & traffic load, disk capacity to group of people, as required
• Troubleshooting host level problems, network connectivity issues and managing security.
• Monitoring performance, capacity & disk utilization
• Assist in Capacity requirements gathering to identify current and future capacity needs
• Assist in performing host level activities such as multipathing, LUN configuration, volume manager configuration and file system configuration.
• Coordinate with 2nd level infrastructure support and Third party vendors to resolve hardware
Problems.
• Participate in making recommendations regarding configuration changes.
• Liaison with the Data Base, network and applications teams for issues related to support or business
Requirements (storage, space, etc...).
• Provide regular feedback to the Managed Services Infrastructure Manager on progress and on key issues and provide recommendations on new enhancements that would improve the efficiency of the systems.
