JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Editor is responsible for developing, translating, and editing content both in English and Arabic, to be published on Mabanee’ s various online and offline platforms for the purpose of furthering the mission and vision of the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Translate accurately and concisely documents and other materials in English or Arabic across a broad range of administrative, legal, financial, scientific and technical texts.
• Prepare written translations for the purpose of providing content in both Arabic and English intended for annual events, recruitment campaigns and marketing collaterals, ensuring correct and consistent use of terminology across all documentation produced.
• Incorporate translated content into brand and image promoting documents and materials for external distribution.
• Work on material of all levels of complexity, including legislation, business correspondences and corporate documents written in English or Arabic, as directed by upper management.
• Respond to media queries and address individuals and other external stakeholders in written Arabic and/or English.
• Review the translation of outsourced projects, making revisions and refinements based on language and cultural subtle nuances.
• Lead and facilitate language research activities to gain a better understanding of the nature of the text using specialized dictionaries and useful reference tools; prepare terminological data bases, useful reference materials and resources for translation work.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of all information disseminated in English and Arabic.
• Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Communications Manager and Director of Marketing and Communications.
