Job Purpose
General accounting including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the senior accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Prepare journal entries
· General ledger operations
· Monthly closings of ledger accounts
· Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
· Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
· Assist with yearend closings
· Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable
· Assist with payroll administration
· Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and cheque differences
· Account/bank reconciliations
· Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
· Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
· Following up with vendors and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Preparation of monthly payments
· Checking and reimbursing petty cash
· Cost rate for each shipment
