The credit accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Maintaining & reconciling Account Receivables ledger and maintain an accurate aging report
Posting of daily deposits, online checking of credits in bank accounts and clearing bank reconciliation items
Receiving L/C negotiations and validating with bank advises
Following up with sales staff for collections on past-due receivables
Interacting with customers to resolve outstanding issues on need basis
Calculating and posting the month end bad debts provisions
Communicating with both internal and external customers about credit/billing discrepancies and concerns
Obtaining approvals for applying credit releases to sales orders through conducting customer research and analysis
Obtaining approvals from the higher management for unsecured sales order releases
Preparing reports and MIS including weekly & monthly collection reports, A/R balances gross/net, collection forecast, trend analysis, DSO calculations, monthly presentation on receivables etc,
Applying and following internal accounting controls with respect to debtors
