• Prepare work schedules for subordinates, set priorities and assign work as necessary
• Direct and provide subordinates with instructions and sketches as necessary to perform their work, includes reading HVAC drawing related to piping installations
• Establish preventive maintenance programs and control the work performed by subordinates to ensure that all equipment are properly maintained and in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
• Ensure that required tools, parts, materials and equipment are available
• Issue requests for materials and parts from store or other external suppliers
• Inspect work and resolve problems if any. Detect faults and identify proper repair techniques, and direct subordinates to maintain high standards
• Check and test completed work as required to ensure proper operation
• Prepare cost estimates as requested on certain jobs
• Assess material and manpower requirements and submit to supervisor for approval
• Monitor stock on hand of a number of spare parts in constant demand such as fuses, thermostats, solenoid valves. Heat exchangers, spare pumps, etc. Review orders for the replenishment of stock items with supervisor and recommend quantities to be ordered
• Liaise with engineers and assign works to the various units based on priorities and volume of works, and ensure minimum disruption of operation
• Liaise with engineers to establish minimum stock levels of materials, tools and spare parts, monitor stock levels and initiate orders as needed.
