Main Purpose of Job:
- To conduct all types of cargo surveys, vessel
condition surveys, draft/bunker surveys and cargo outturn surveys from vessel and containers on behalf of Cargo underwriters/P&I club and various principals. Job holder will submit survey report as per procedures and guidelines.
Job Holder will also work towards growing the customer base by securing more survey related
jobs for revenue generation.
Key Accountabilities:
Conduct Surveys on Marine Cargo, Dry and reefer container, Vessel surveys including vessel condition survey, draft/bunker survey and cargo outturn survey with a view to report on
nature of damage, extent of damage, cause of damage, computation of value of damage, value of loss claim and recommendation on how to prevent loss in future.
Role will also involve submission of preliminary report within 24 hours and final fair and unbiased report within 30 days to the Principals /
clients as per set guidelines. Hard copies of the reports to be submitted to local clients and clarify any queries that the client may have.
The post holder will carry out all / any other duties as are within the scope and purpose of the job as requested by the Line Manager and ensure full utilisation of all ISS systems according to
Standard Operating Procedures.

- Sales and Marketing: Market our services with importers, shipping companies and insurance companies with a view to increase market share, brand image.
- Reporting: Report market intelligence on competitor’s activities/providing leads for new job opportunities.
- Service Excellence: Maintain good rapport with clients, inform clients about the status of surveys, cause of damage with a view to meet and exceed
customer satisfaction.
- Adherence to Business Ethics - To ensure fair dealing and submission of fair and unbiased report in case of conflict of interest without compromising Inchcape Shipping Services business interest.
- Customer Service excellence: Identify, understand and meet customer needs by demonstrating high level of commitment and applying maximum efforts to achieve results to the highest quality standards thus maintaining and exceeding customer satisfaction.
- Revenue Generation: Conduct sales visits, telephone sales, prospecting new clients with a view to sell our services and generate revenue, enhancing market share within the defined area of responsibility and meet /exceed budgets.
Any other job assigned by the department head from time to time.
