Reporting to the Store Manager, the Sales Supervisor drives sales performance on the sales floor. Coaching, motivating and empowering sales staff to achieve set targets.
• Monitoring and coaching a team of sales staff to ensure that high customer service levels, display standards, and policy compliance are maintained.
• Providing on-the-floor coaching and some classroom training sessions for all Sales Assistants and Section Heads under own area of responsibility.
• Managing the induction and training of new sales staff, ensuring they gain the skills and attitude to be successful during their probationary period.
• Maintaining and promoting a culture of cooperation, professionalism and optimism within the sales team. Ensuring a positive attitude is always displayed.
• Effective implementation of promotions, layout changes and seasonal moves within showroom, feeding back to the relevant department as necessary.
• Regular floor walks with support functions to establish requirements relating to VM displays, product movement and marketing activity.
• Ensuring the safe handling and movement of product so as to minimise damages and keep shrinkage costs to a minimum.
• Maintaining regular, open and honest communication with the Store Manager to ensure accuracy of information and consistency at store level.
• Analysis of sales data and recommending / actioning changes to maximise sales.
• Assuming ‘Duty Manager’ role as scheduled, managing the showroom in the absence of the Store Manager. Approving discounts and return transactions as per company policy. Escalating issues to line managers when outside of own level of authority.
