To lead the Banking team covering Client’s products so as to meet P&L targets by acquiring new relationships and broadening existing ones in order to establish as a preferred banking partner and position the bank as a “trusted advisor” for Client’s customers, ensuring that segment value proposition is well executed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Contribution
§ Contribute to the development of the Group Retail Banking strategy by providing the Client’s banking input and plans in line with the overall business objectives.
§ Ensure that the retail banking strategy is translated into Client’s Banking operational business plans and sales targets and monitor performance during the course of the year.
2. Organization Structure
Recommend an optimum organization structure in coordination with Group Human Resources and for the function so that resources are optimally utilized and communication can take place in an efficient manner.
3. People Management
§ Manage the effective achievement of objectives through setting individual staff objectives for Client’s RMs, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and the overall performance.
§ Manage both Men and Women RMs in order to assist them in reaching stated sales levels by coaching/ guiding them and conducting regular joint calls.
Ensure that Banking RM’s (Men and Women) are well-trained applying the most recent processes and procedures and coordinate with Sales Support and HR to conduct training in order to ensure high degree of customer focus.
4. Budgets & Plans
Prepare and recommend the budget for Banking, monitor actual expenditure against the approved budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenue and corrective actions are taken.
5. Banking & Relationship Management
· Own and ensure achievement of sales targets set for Banking by Sales Management.
· Allocate sales targets amongst Banking RM’s and plan sales activities to ensure sales targets are met.
· Ensure effective execution of segment value propositions and fulfillment of all service elements.
· Review and sign off on RM’s business cases to acquire new relationships and broaden existing ones.
· Oversee the consolidation and review of lead generation, sales targets and incentives forms and communicate to Retail Segmentation Management in a timely manner.
· Ensure timely migration of products and financing deals to ensure that opportunities are capitalized upon promptly.
· Track performance effectiveness of campaigns, gather customer feedback and communicate with Retail Segmentation Management to ensure that improvements can be made to future campaigns.
· Ensure execution of roles assigned by Retail Segmentation Management in a campaign roll out to ensure that the planned campaign is successful and achieves its business objectives.
· Ensure implementation of corrective actions suggested by Retail Segmentation Management in order to improve sales.
6. Customer Relations & Service Excellence
§ Ensure that RM’s abide by the overall service quality standards for Group Retail Banking.
§ Ensure that all Clients’ customer complaints are communicated to Customer Complaints team in a timely manner.
Communicate with key customers, regarding any issues they may have, ensuring prompt and quick solutions to their satisfaction.
7. Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
§ Recommend enhancements to policy and procedures related to Banking and implement procedures and controls covering all areas of banking to ensure adherence and effective implementation.
Oversee the implementation of SLAs with Branch Managers and Retail Credit (and other relevant parties) to ensure smooth coordination and clear rules of engagement.

10. Authority & Decision Making:
§ Key decisions having significant impact on Banking are referred to the Deputy General Manager Sales and Distribution for approval before implementation.
§ The jobholder exercises financial and operational authority as per the level established by the Client’s management and stipulated in the authority matrix.
